Knowledge of current legislation and of the historical evolution related
to Occupational Medicine and the main laws to protect the safety and
health of workers
- Knowledge of importance of risk assessment and main occupational risk
factors, including those in the health field
- Knowledge of risk assessment methods from manual handling of loads
and manual handling of patients
- Knowledge of the main occupational diseases, with particular reference
to diseases that may require professional rehabilitation intervention of
the phisiotherapist
- Knowledge of importance of promoting and preserving the physical and
mental well-being of workers through integrated prevention activities by
the various professionals

- Basic scholastic knowledge of science subjects (Biology; Science;
Mathematics and Physics), Civic Education and Jurisprudence
- Achivement of adequate training in the teaching Disciplines of the first
two years of the degree course in Physioterapy

- Exercises on simulations of clinical cases and on the evaluation of the
risk from manual handling of loads: NIOSH model, MAPO model

- Availability to provide insights on issues related to Occupational
Medicine of particular interest to learners, taking into account any
specific training needs

of worker, employer, RSPP, competent medical doctor ("medico
competente"), authorized medical doctor ("medico autorizzato");
preventive and insurance protection of workers; occupational accidents
and occupational diseases; health surveillance of workers; assessment
and judgment of specific occupational suitability; health and risk record
("cartella sanitaria e di rischio"); evaluation of occupational risks;
occupational risks (manual load handling; repetitive movements; noise
and vibrations; chemical agents; biological agents; carcinogens; ionizing
radiation; non-ionizing radiation; video terminals; anesthetic gases;
