Learning Outcomes
To train the physiotherapist in interprofessional collaboration in the approach of communicative disorders and swallowing problems of the adult patient with outcomes of acquired brain injury. Create a common interprofessional language by sharing the specific issues in order to improve interaction in team work. To stimulate the active participation of the physiotherapistfor the benefit of swallowing and communication problems
Prerequisites
Neuroanatomy and neurophysiology.
Principles of evaluation and physiotherapy treatment of neurological patient.

Discussion on short videos about clinical cases
Additional Information
Sharing in view of some textual and treatment materials, with subsequent experimentation and joint discussion in the classroom. Activity chosen by the student: possibility of supporting the speech therapist during the II year internship on relevant cases, in the course of physiotherapy treatment

Detailed Syllabus
Communication, language and organs involved in the phono-articulation; models of interpretation of communicative linguistic functioning: from sensory processing to output; Evaluation, guidelines and rehabilitative strategies related to language disorders resulting from acquired brain injuries and neurodegenerative diseases (aphasia, dysarthria and anarthria). Disorders in the realization of the gesture: evaluation in collaboration with the physiotherapist, hypotheses and rehabilitation proposals. Deglutology and dysphagia: definition, evaluation, signs to be detected, objectives, importance and role of posture in functional swallowing. Inter-professional integration: joint work for the patient with acquired brain injury (breathing / phonation-swallowing ..).
Expected Learning Outcomes
Knowledge of the main cognitive and communicative disorders of the adult neurological patient; interference with motor treatment; how to approach the patient. Knowledge of swallowing disorders; postural facilitation method of the patient
