Course Contents
The project is part of the campaign "Io non rischio, buone pratiche di protezione civile" (I don't risk, good civil protection practices) and collaboration with the Civil Protection Volunteers of the Municipal Civil Protection Group of the City of Alessandria who have completed the training for the campaign "Io non rischio".

The courses concern the risks from:

- Floods
- Earthquakes
- Tidal waves

Participants:

- Bachelor and Master's degree students (DiSIT)
- medical students
- TA staff
- teachers

Possible visit to the headquarters of S. Michele.

The discussion of the topics will be accompanied by numerous examples of assistance to the population through images and various documents.

Importance will be given also and above all to the phase of territorial planning, emergency forecasting and self-protection norms through the list of good practices of Civil Protection.

Learning Outcomes
The aim of the course is to provide useful elements to deal with environmental emergencies. In particular the lessons will focus on environmental sustainability and sustainable approaches to address new societal challenges. in particular, students should know how to behave in case of an environmental risk and how to communicate it.

Lectures with discussion and presentation of papers on specific topics by students.

Assessment Methods
Oral with presentation of report on particular topics. There will also be a question on the theoretical part on climate change. Those who do not prepare the paper will have to answer two questions. A pass mark is achieved if you answer the questions correctly and show that you have learned both the theoretical and applied concepts.

Expected Learning Outcomes
Knowledge and understanding: Students, at the end of the course, should know the characteristics of some of the environmental emergencies and understand their causes and impact
Ability to apply knowledge and understanding: Students will be able to apply the concepts described theoretically to manage emergencies. They should also be able to apply the knowledge acquired through numerous practical cases exemplified in the classroom.
