Course Contents
The course aims to provide knowledge on asbestos and the benign and malignant diseases related to it. It also intends to examine pathologies from other atmospheric pollutants (eg particulates) of the soil and water (eg heavy metals) and skin cancers from UV rays. The course deals with tumors of the urinary tract with particular reference to exposure to heavy metals. In parallel, the student intends to acquire basic elements of epidemiology and address basic concepts in the field of research on related asbestos pathologies

Learning Outcomes
Allow the student to know and understand, at a basic level, the etiological agents present in the environment that are responsible for pathological manifestations and the onset of tumors The acquisition of simple medical and epidemiological notions aims to allow the student to know and deepen the pathologies treated.
Prerequisites
Nobody
Teaching Methods
During the lectures the topics indicated in the program will be presented and discussed trying to involve the student so that he can be an active part of the lesson.
Additional Information
Students with physical disabilities, Learning Disabilities or Special Education Needs can request specific services and tools via the Staff Sviluppo e Coordinamento Carriere e Servizi alle Studentesse e agli Studenti, consulting the University webpage: https://www.uniupo.it/en/services/services-students-physical-or-learning-disabilities Students with disabilities, learning disabilities or special education needs, once they have contacted the University Staff, can refer to the tutor in charge of the course to define the examination modalities, concerning academic aspects.
Assessment Methods
The assessment of the achievement of the objectives set by the course involves an oral exam
