Improve and revise grammar structures, the language syntax and vocabulary by doing exercises both for receptive (listening and reading) and productive (writing and speaking) linguistic skills.

The communicative approach and the interaction among the students will be of utmost importance, the activities such as work in pairs and group work will be encouraged especially during the in presence lectures. The digital support and tools offered by the book such as videos and interactive exercises, will be used to improve the students’motivation and involvement; for those who cannot attend the lessons these tools can be very useful for the autonomous preparation. Reading and listening comprehensions as well as written productions will be guided at first, then they will be more autonomous to allow students facing successfully the final exam.

The teacher will always guide and help the students to discover good strategies to cope with success the required skills of the exam, such as reading and listening comprehension, essay writing and exercises of use of English at B2/B2+ level.

The written test will consist of reading and listening comprehension with multiple choice options and gaps filling. One point and/or 0,5 each correct answer. Use of English exercises ( the same shown in the textbook and during the course) one point and /or 0,5 each correct answer.
Essay writing whose topic will be chosen among the ones listed in this syllabus. Marking citeria: content (how well the candidate have completed the task), communicative achievement (whether the content is appropriate, relevant, with the correct register), organisation (paragraphs well structured and logical), language (range of vocabulary and grammar accuracy). Candidates are marked from 0 to 5 for each of the criteria.
Minimum grade: 20 points; intermediate from 23 to 26; eccellent from 27 to 30.
Honours: maximun points in all performances.
