Basic level: familiarizing with some of the major philosophical issues concerning personal identity, looking at them from an empirically informed perspective.
These skills are functional to understand the argumentative structure of philosophical and scientific essays and to improve one's knowledge of psychological processes. I
Advanced level: the student must demonstrate full knowledge of the course content and be able to articulate and communicate it with rigour and originality.

Frontal lessons

The final exam is aimed at verifying the mastery of the topics discussed and the bibliography studied, in accordance with the objectives and the expected learning outcomes.
The examination will be in written form (90 minutes).
The tests will consist of 3 open-ended questions, having as a topic one of the topics discussed in the classroom, for a maximum of 10 points each. Specifically, the three questions will concern the development of personal identity, examined in a perspective of philosophy of cognitive science.
The student will have to answer the questions using the appropriate scientific terminology and showing argumentative competence.
The exam will be successful if the sum of 18/30 is reached or exceeded. An assignment with an exhaustive answer to the three questions will be awarded the maximum score (30/30) with the possible attribution of honors.

1) A historical reconstruction of the twentieth-century philosophical debate on personal identity
2) A critical view on a constructivistic perspective on the nature development and pathologies of self-knowledge

Basic level: knowing (also from a historical point of view) the reflection on personal identity.
Formulating autonomous evaluative judgments on a topic that is not only central to philosophy and psychology, but also crucial to contemporary cultural debate.
Coherent ad appropriate use of a specific philosophical, psychological and scientific terminology.
Advanced level: s, the student must demonstrate full knowledge of the course content and be able to articulate and communicate it with rigour and originality.
