Course Contents
The course is divided into two parts: the first 12 hours consist of a theoretical deepening on the grammatical contents studied during the module of SPANISH LANGUAGE TRAINING (L0179 - LINGUA SPAGNOLA) held by native-speaker lecturers; the remaining 18 hours focus on Spanish for Turism and several types of texts related to it.
Reference Texts
Grammar theoretical deepening:
- M. Carrera Díaz (2013), “Grammatica spagnola”, Roma-Bari: Laterza, chapters 1-2, 4-5, 16, 18 e 20;
- material uploaded on DIR.

Spanish for Turism:
- M. V. Calvi (2021), “Lengua y comunicación en el español del turismo”, Madrid: Arco/Libros, pp. 32-88;
- anthology of texts selected by the professor.

Textbooks and all the material will be uploaded on DIR.
Learning Outcomes
The aim of the course is to provide students with: 1) a basic knowledge (synchronic, diachronic and diatopic) in Spanish phonology and morphology; 2) a solid knowledge of the studied phenomena, also from a contrastive perspective (with Italian); 3) useful means for linguistic and discoursive analysis of Spanish turistic texts.
Prerequisites
None.
Teaching Methods
Lectures and seminars with students participation and text analysis.
Additional Information
Students from TURISMO with a 12-CFU exam must also attend and take the exam of the module of SPANISH LANGUAGE TRAINING (96 hours, held by native-speaker lecturers). See the syllabus of L0179 - SPANISH LANGUAGE.

Further information will be provided on DIR and during the informative meeting held at the beginning of the 1st semester.
Assessment Methods
The acquisition of the course’s contents and competences will be assessed through a written exam (2 hours) which consists of 3 open questions on the theoretical contents of the course and 1 exercise (analysis of a turistic text).

The exam may be taken in Italian or Spanish.

In theorical questions, students must prove that they are able to explain, in a concise form (but with congruity and awareness) the required content, citing consistent examples aimed at illustrating the phenomena, and expressing with precise terminology and property of language.
In the text analysis, students must prove that they are able to recognise the specific linguistic features of the text and, in general, of Spanish for Turism.
