Relationship between environment and human activities
and ecosystems.
Impact assessment and mitigation of natural and
anthropogenic risks, sustainable management of natural
assets. Analysis of extreme weather events on the
environment and the necessary adaptation strategies,
addressing the challenges of climate change and
promoting environmental resilience.

Detailed Syllabus
Topics covered: Fundamental concepts, classification
and localization of georesources. Analysis of vital
resources such as air, water and soil. Study of energy
resources, metalliferous and non-metallic resources.
Assessment of the risks, consequences and
environmental repercussions deriving from the
extraction of georesources. Mitigation and
adaptation strategies to address these impacts.
Practical applications and case studies.
Expected Learning Outcomes
Students will be able to evaluate the environmental
impacts of mining activities and understand
mitigation strategies and suggest possible
improvements.
