Prerequisites
No previous knowledge and/or computer skills are required. The course can be accessed with minimal skills.
Teaching Methods
In addition to the lessons attended in the laboratory, notes, video lessons and exercises will be provided on the DIR page of the course.
The reference software will be MS Windows 8 or 10,11, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint.
To access the laboratory, it is necessary to know your UPO user (the same as your email).

Assessment Methods
Practical laboratory exam in a Windows environment lasting two hours:
- answer a quiz on hardware and software;
- write a document in Word;
- solve a spreadsheet in Excel;
- create a presentation in PowerPoint;
- send/share files in compressed mode (zip) via DIR and/or Google Drive.

The use of your own notebook will be prohibited.
The use of paper and/or digital notes will be prohibited.

To receive the computer science qualification without taking the exam, you must have passed the following ICDL (formerly ECDL) exams:
- Computer Essentials;
- Online Essentials;
- Spreadsheets;
- Word Processing;
- Presentation.

The chapters above cover more topics than the course; always refer to the DIR page for the specific parts to study.
The book does not contain the PowerPoint module, the notes on that topic are found in DIR.
