In the first part, the course will analyse the concept fo globalization, with an interdisciplinary approach that will examine its political, economic, social, cultural features.
In the second part, the course will focus on specific topics, discussed through the presentation of a series of books published in the last years.

For the second part, students have to choose one of the books discussed in class:
1) Gianmarco Ottaviano, Riglobalizzazione. Dall'interdipendenza tra paesi a nuove coalizioni economiche, Milano, Egea, 2022;
2) Arlo Poletti, Antiglobalismo. Le radici politiche ed economiche, Bologna, Il Mulino, 2022;
3) Nathalie Tocci, La grande incertezza. Navigare le contraddizioni del disordine globale, Milano, Mondadori, 2024.

The specific knowledge of the globalization and the main dynamics of the conteporary age.

General knowledge of the history of thought and political science.

Lessons and seminars.

The final exam will be oral.
The teacher will discuss with the students about a possible written test (intermediate or final).

Evaluation criteria:
- 18-22: basic understanding of the texts;
- 23-26: good understanding of the texts and oral exposure;
- 27-30: excellent understanding of the texts, oral exposure and critical review of content.

Knowledge of the political and social transformation of our time; individual study of scientific books and papers.
