The course aims to provide the student with:
- principles of biology
- principles of therapy
- treatment of specific cancer symptoms and complications

The exam program is proposed in detail with presentations in PPT format accessible to students.

Aims
1. Knowledge of the most frequent cancers relating to organ and apparatus neoplastic pathologies that are part of the program of lessons with the related risk factors
2. Knowledge of the relationships between lifestyle, diet, type of work and cancer
3. Knowledge of the different types of screening
4. Knowledge of early signs and symptoms and the natural history of the most frequent cancers in relation to neoplastic organ and system pathologies that are part of the program of lessons
5. Knowledge of the general principles of cancer staging
6. Knowledge of the general criteria that act as a guide in defining the therapeutic plan
7. Knowledge of the main therapeutic options and expected results in relation to neoplastic organ pathologies, also depending on the stage of the disease (concepts of Adjuvant Therapy, Neoadjuvant Therapy, Palliative Therapy, etc.)
8. Knowledge of the most frequent side effects of antineoplastic treatments and of the indications and possibilities of supportive treatments

The student must be in possession of the essential notions of biological, pharmacological, pathological order that allow the clinical classification of the subject

Lectures and online presentations in MS-Power Point format.

The exam consists of a written test relating to the entire integrated course including the three constituent disciplines of the course (Medical Oncology, Radiotherapy, Oncohematology) which must be passed for admission to the subsequent oral test. The oral exam focuses on the disciplines of Medical Oncology and/or Radiotherapy.
Students must demonstrate that they have assimilated the concepts learned during lectures, seminars and exercises, in an adequate way to effectively face subsequent courses.
