Course Contents
The course covers the understanding and teaching of major mental illnesses (schizophrenia, major depression, bipolar disorder) and minor disorders (anxiety disorders, eating disorders, substance use and abuse, personality disorders, disorders of the extremes of life). Notions are also provided on how the relationship is important in relating to patients suffering from psychiatric illnesses within the health profession.

Learning Outcomes
The objectives of the course are:
- to know the psychic functions both as single entities and as a complex set of activities from which subjective experiences arise and the relationship life of the human being.
- to learn the main pathological changes of the aforesaid functions and their reflection on behavior, knowing how to recognize and research the manifestations through the semiological techniques peculiar to psychiatry.
- be able to orientate themselves in the nosography of psychic disorders by learning to recognize the main psychiatric syndromes, indicating their preventive, therapeutic and rehabilitation guidelines.
- demonstrate that they are able to recognize situations of psychological distress in general medicine and to be able to operate correctly.

Assessment Methods
The learning assessment takes place through a single profit exam of all the subjects related to the course. The test consists of 54 multiple choice questions, of which only one is correct, and 3 open questions, in the form of a case in which the students will have to apply the knowledge acquired. The 3 open questions will focus on a case of Therapeutic Education, one of Family and Community Nursing and one of Mental Health Nursing. For the evaluation of the open questions, teachers have specific correction grids available.
The correct multiple choice questions are worth 1 point, the open questions allow you to acquire a maximum of 10 points per question. Maximum total score 84 points.
The test is passed if you obtain 60% of the total score.
The students have 90 minutes to complete the test.
The test takes place in person on an online platform.
