Course Contents
Clinical features, pathophysiological and evaluation criteria of the severity of the main acute pathologies affecting the different organs and systems.
Ppatient monitoring in emergency room.
Early identification of "warning" signs and symptoms in various acute diseases.
Early identification and initial management of the most important complications.
Methods to actively assist critically ill patients: therapy, respiratory and cardiac support, collection of diagnostic samples and execution of diagnostic and therapeutic maneuvers.
Reference Texts
Teaching material provided by the teacher; during the lessons students can receive some useful readings for the study of specific topics.
Learning Outcomes
To provide the knowledge for a correct nursing in emergency conditions, in acute diseases or in acutely decompensated chronic diseases.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of the pathophysiology and of the main clinical manifestations of diseases interesting the different organs and systems.
Teaching Methods
Lectures based on Power Point presentations. Alle the files will be available for students on the "Didattica in Rete" (DIR) platform.
Additional Information
To support teaching, supplementary teaching activities are planned aimed at acquiring technical-gestural skills.

Assessment Methods
Multiple choice questionnaire on the topics covered in class. If the number of students enrolled in an exam session is small, the committee can opt for the oral examination with a discussion about a clinic scenario and questions on topics object of the course.

Expected Learning Outcomes
The student should demonstrate competence regarding the topics scheduled in the course. Speculative and pragmatic skills will be also tested during the examination in order to assess the application of knowledge in a practical context.
