Course Contents
To provide knowledge and skills about three th ematic areas:
the first to present the subject of study "organization", so that students get to know the terminology.
The second, more specific, presents the state of the art of the national health sector.
The third, most peculiar, explains how the health professions are placed in the current health sector.

Learning Outcomes
The course is designed to guide the students to the a logic of "organizational responsibility" and professional, to develop a more balanced view between the clinical care sphere of labor and economic management. In particular, the course aims are:
help to reconstruct the framework of the NHS and the complex reality of the health agencies;
provide keys to understanding of organizational dynamics;
reconstruct the evolution of the health professions in organizational and managerial terms.

Assessment Methods
The exam will be a written test in closed multiple choice questions on topics of the lectures.
Detailed Syllabus
The significance of institution, company and organization;
the corporate system: the company as open social system;
the main organizational theories;
an analysis model of health care organizations: the systemic model;
the organizational structure, operating systems, organizational power and culture;
The National Health Service (three reforms);
hospital department;
the district;
process management;
the management structure of the health professions;
the service for the health professions;
the logic of corporate accounting, cost accounting and the budget process.
Expected Learning Outcomes
In order to reach the level of knowledge and skills required, the student is asked to demonstrate to know:
• The concept of organization
• Modeling of health organizations
• The establishment of the National Health Service
• Structure of healthcare companies
