Frontal lectures on the theoretical part and numerical exercises. On the DIR web site Students can find many exercises made available for improve their competence for the exam.

On the DIR web page of the Course some notes are available as a guide for studying, along with a collection of exercises, divided by argument, for a better preparation to the exam. The notes cannot be considered a replacement of a good textbook.

Assessment Methods
Written exam with multiple choice tests and open questions, consisting in numerical exercises and theoretical questions. Students can use a formulary without text and a non-programmable calculator. A score is associated to each question, proportional to its complexity. To pass the written test a minimum total score of 18/30 is required. On demand, possible supplementary oral exam to improve the grade.
Detailed Syllabus
Recall of basic Mathematics. Physical quantities and unit measures. Kinematics of a material point. Forces and the Principles of Dynamics. Work and energy. The gravitational force. Elements of Mechanics of fluids. Temperature, heat and the Principles of Thermodynamics. Electric charge, electric field, conductors and insulations, motion of charges in an electric field. Electric potential and capacity. Electric current, Joule effect resistance. The magnetic field, magnetic effects of currents, induction. Elements of Mechanics of waves.
Gender integration: the importance of gender integration in research, teaching programs and training will be discussed.
Expected Learning Outcomes
Knowledge and understanding - solid knowledge of the basis of classical Physics. Ability to apply knowledge and understanding - deal with and solve simple Physics problems using the notions learnt during Lessons.Judgement - evaluate the best solving strategy and the accuracy of the result. Communication - to be able to communicate the strategy used and the result obtained.
