Learning Outcomes
The goals of the course are (Dublin descriptors)

Knowledge and understanding: how to approach all aspects of Fintech transformation. Students will gain knowledge and a critical thinking perspective on the following areas:
• understanding the origin of the Fintech phenomenon
• understanding the impact on the financial and insurance industry
Applying knowledge and understanding:
• applying the appropriate machine learning models for solving operational problems;
• Developing appropriate strategic choices aimed at make growing new Fintech companies.
Making judgements: be able to make autonomously judgements on the use of the introduced methodologies and understanding pros and cons of the intelligent methodologies learned.

Communication skills: know how to communicate the results, advantages and limitations of the current and forthcoming innovations on financial intermediaries, markets end-users and even to non-experts

Learning skills: know how to extend the concepts and ideas seen in the course to new settings.
Expected Learning Outcomes

Knowledge:
 Evaluate critically the evolving structure of banking as a business and the main strategies different actors are developing in the market.
 Be able to mine data, analyse it, and offer recommendations on how to use them to improve banking services
 Appraise the role of banks and FinTech companies in a modern society.
 Understand why banks and banking need regulation and assess the regulatory response in light of the changing scenario.
 Be able to analyze academic and non-academic literature on banking and identify and be able to use relevant information.
• Skills and abilities
The Fintech industry faces a host of technological and legal challenges and unexpected events. Fintech professionals are required to have analytical and critical thinking skills that can help them find creative solutions to such problems. In particular, the student will need to be able to communicate with his team, brainstorm ideas and collaboratively solve critical issues; to be able engage directly with clients; rely on solid communications to interact with the press.
The new industry, particularly start-ups, faces a host of technological, legal and regulatory challenges and unexpected events. AI professionals are required to have analytical and critical thinking skills that can help them find creative solutions to such problems.
