A.Course. The feminine condition in Spain: throught both an historical excursus and the analysis of some texts by Federico García Lorca and Carmen Martín Gaite the course objective is to illustrate the life conditions and the socio-cultural difficulties of women in the Spanish traditional view, according to a gender perspective.

The student must show to be able to analyze and contextualize both the
texts treated in class, and the esthetic movements of Spain and Europe
at the end of XIXth century and the beginning of XXth century. The
student must show as well transversal competencies such as the ability
of establish links between an artistic movement and the concrete literary
creations of the authors that have been treated in class, and the
autonomy of judgment in analyzing themes, motives, stilistic and esthetic
characteristics, language uses, ideological, historical and cultural
implications.
They also have to apply to the texts a gender perspective.

Basic Knowledge of the history of Spanish and European Literatures and
theater of the XIXth and XXth centuries

Students with disabilities, learning disabilities or special education needs, once they have contacted the University Staff, can refer to the tutor in charge of the course to define the examination modalities, concerning academic aspects.

The oral examination consists in a discussion about the themes and
subjects illustrated in class. The first question is about the general
contextualization of authors and works from an historical and literary
perspective; the following questions are about the specific works that
have been analyzed in class. The examination takes about 20 minutes
and the number of questions isn’t quantifiable, because the maieutic
method implies a constante dialogue between student and professor
