Course Contents
The course addresses two main topics: what financing methods the company has available to finance itself during the different phases of the life cycle and how it can manage a financial restructuring process. It is believed that the objectives of the course are achieved if the student at the end of the course is able to critically read the main events that characterize corporate financial management, as well as make balanced decisions with reference to the correct formulation of a suitable fundraising strategy.
Reference Texts
The instructors will provide articles, slides, case studies and working papers in order to deepen specific course topics.
Learning Outcomes
Knowledge and understanding. The student, by acquiring the correct tools and methods, will have the ability to critically evaluate the financing decisions in the different phases of the company's life, the different financial instruments (debt, equity, mezzanine finance; collection instruments on the markets or at financial intermediaries).
The student will also develop the ability to analyze the different tools that the Business Crisis Code makes available to the company to deal with a period of financial imbalance and a restructuring process.
Making judgements: The student will have acquired the critical ability to formulate their own financial evaluation based on the theoretical knowledge learned and the experiences shared by the teacher in the classroom. Furthermore, through an "active learning based" teaching methodology, the student will be able to solve complex problems, consistently with the professional challenges required of the corporate finance expert.
Communication skills: At the end of the course the student will be able to master the technical vocabulary of corporate finance with the appropriate terminology.
Learning ability: The knowledge acquired during the course will allow the student to independently understand and interpret corporate crisis management techniques and adapt them to the specific reference context.
