Develop the ability to understand main phenomena undelying interactions between fungi and environment. Understanding the adaptation mechanisms at different level of complexity, from ecosystem to cell, with particular reference to global climate changes. Develop systematic recognition skills.

Basic courses in Biology and Chemistry

The course consists of lectures presenting the programme accompanied by
illustrative material and diagrams elaborated by the teacher and in part
derived from scientific articles. Possible laboratory experience: isolation and
recognition of fungal taxa.

Control of the learning capacity by discussing the topics during the lessons. In any case, the teacher will be available on appointment for clarifications on the topics of the lessons or on the material provided.

Oral examination to verify the level of knowledge and understanding
of the course content and to assess the autonomy of judgement, the

and communication skills. Questions regarding the fungal topics. The overall evaluation will take account of
scores achieved in the individual questions and of the exposure.

Interactions between fungi and other organisms including humans. The fungal poisonings. Possible laboratory experience: recognition of fungal taxa collected by the students.

To be able to integrate the knowledge acquired through the theoretical lessons with the ability developed individually to understand and analyze the response of fungi to different environmental factors

To be able to combine the fundamentals knowledge of mycology to understand aspects of fungal ecology and recognize the most common mushroom

To be able to elaborate clearly and rigorously and to summarize the contents of the discipline in a concise manner, using appropriate terms during the examination.

To be able of critical analysis of the elements related to what acquired during the lessons.

To be able to describe in an exhaustive manner scientific issues related to fungal ecology. This ability will be developed by autonomously deepening the topics covered in class, by reading additional texts and scientific articles.
