The course will examine the main themes of law and literature, with particular attention to the relationship between law and cinema.

Knowledge and understanding. At the end of the course, students should be able to understand the connection between law, literature, and cinema in complex contemporary societies. Applying knowledge and understanding At the end of the course, students will be able to master the tools of literary and visual communication in the legal and media fields. Autonomy of judgment Students will be encouraged to develop critical skills concerning the normative use of persuasive techniques and images in contemporary societies in different contexts (political communication, marketing, social networks). Communication skills Students will be required to demonstrate mastery of: a) the ability to argue the content learned orally b) the ability to make critical connections between topics. Learning skills Attendees, and in particular those who participate in the seminar, will also be enabled to manage content writing and group content creation.

The class alternates between lectures and viewings of video content, including 360-degree video, and participation in embryonic visual content production projects.

Verification of learning will be linked to active participation in the lectures and seminar and will culminate in a concluding oral examination.

The program will include content writing by students and group work on topics related to law and literature, music, and cinema. A Winter School will also be held in December 2025 (14-20) in Nice (France) at the Carlone campus, in collaboration with the Immersive Media course at the University of the Côte d'Azur (Prof. Matteo Treleani). Information will be provided during the first class of the course.Students with SLD or disability are requested to inform the lecturer at the beginning of the class in order to agree on a personal learning path suited to their needs, even beyond the compensatory and dispensatory measures provided for the exam.The theory of the “screen of norms” will be proposed, with reference to Plato's myth of the cave, Lon Fuller's case of speleologists, and the “cave” of social networks and the metaverse

Students will learn how to use argumentation and master the rhetorical tools necessary for practicing law.
