The course aims to analyze the basic and fundamental coordinates to help students understand the internal dynamics of the discipline.

Learning Outcomes
The aim of the course is to provide - especially to those attending - the essential coordinates to orient themselves in the varied and multifaceted panorama of Italian liberalism between 1861 and 1919, also through its links with its continental counterparts
Prerequisites
The minimum requirement is a basic knowledge of Italian and European historical events in contemporary times.

Detailed Syllabus
The program envisages reconstructing - starting from the national movement prior to 1861 - the role played by Italian liberalism in the European context, comparing it both with the experience of Bismarkian Germany and with that of the France of the Third Republic.
Expected Learning Outcomes
the objective of the course is to provide students with the essential notions to place the Italian liberal experience in the European context.
