The course aims—thanks to Luciano Monzali's book, listed in the reference texts—to examine the intentions, objectives, guidelines, and outcomes of international politics in the period between 1492 and the end of the Great War.

The goal of the course I intend to teach during the second semester is to provide students with a wealth of knowledge to help them navigate the various political options available, focusing in particular on the Italian situation between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, so rich in inspiration that it stands out as a clear example within a continental panorama.

Basic knowledge of the typical coordinates of European politics in the four centuries following 1492.

Lessons will be taught orally using classroom methods that, thanks also to the use of appropriate geographical maps, will enable students to equip themselves with the appropriate tools to provide a full and complete picture of Europe's reality, not just its political aspects.

Oral Exam

A better understanding - at the end of the course - of the dynamics inherent in concepts such as "diplomacy", "Ancient Regime", "Politics of Dissuasion", "Liberalism", as well as "imperialism", is necessary and indispensable to fully understand the reality of the 21st century itself.
