Course Contents
The integrated course of Medical Pathology II includes the teaching of 3 different internal disciplines: Endocrinology, Gastroenterology and Nephrology. Moreover, clinical cases of endocrine-metabolic-nutrition interest will be discussed.
Reference Texts
At the beginning of the course, each teacher provides indications on the reference text-books for study.
Learning Outcomes
The integrated course aims to facilitate the learning and recognition of the main pathological pictures for each discipline included in the integrated course, favoring clinical reasoning and above all differential diagnoses and diagnosis paths. Basic therapeutic notions will also be provided. The teachers will try, where possible, to favor the integration between the disciplines especially for chronic pathologies and of multi-specialist interest. The teachers will use traditional and content teaching methods and above all through "problem solving" they will bring out the most relevant aspects for each discipline.
Prerequisites
The student must be familiar with the essential notions of Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, General Pathology. Basic knowledges of semeiotics and pharmacology are also required.

1) Classical frontal lessons. 2) Multidisciplinary seminars. 3) Discussion and Resolution of Clinical Cases. 4) Literature reviews and Journal Club
Assessment Methods
1) Written exam: 45 quiz questions (5 choices), 15 for each discipline. 2) Oral exam: discussion on a clinical case
Detailed Syllabus
Approach to the patient with (suspected) endocrinological, gastrointestinal, nephrological disease. Symptoms, signs, syndromes and diseases in Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Nephrological Disease. Specific diseases of each discipline are described in the program of each single course.
Expected Learning Outcomes
Recognize, evaluate clinically, diagnose through rigorous procedures, place the different pathological pictures in differential diagnosis and set up clinical-therapeutic reasoning for the most common pathological pictures for each discipline present in the integrated course.
