The aim of the course is to teach the basic notions of computer science, which are intended to make the student independent in the management of a simple database, in the use of personal productivity tools to draft documents and presentations. To the extent permitted by the topics covered, the teaching will be set up to stimulate the student's reasoning and ability to deduce.

Students with disabilities, learning disabilities or special education needs, once they have contacted the University Staff, can refer to the tutor in charge of the course to define the examination modalities, concerning academic aspects

The exam will consist in a written test, based from the summary of a scientific paper, translated into Italian, and complete with tables. The test will include 38 closed-ended questions: 7 Epidemiology and EBP, 12 Nursing Research Methodology and EBN, 7 Statistics, 12 Informatics. Type of questions, may include:
- checkboxes (more than one answer can be correct),
- true/false,
- of completion with omitted answers,
- of association.
In order to pass the test, 60% of the questions must be answered correctly. The 90-minute test will be processed and delivered via the DIR Examination system.
To achieve a 30/30 cum laude score, the student must demonstrate excellent knowledge of all topics covered in the course.
No penalization will be applied for incorrect/omitted. No oral tests will be held.

At the end of the course, students will know the main topics of basic computer science and will be able to use the PC especially with regard to the operating system and the most common applications of current use
