Identification of health care needs of the person suffering from urological conditions
- Genito-urinary tract anatomy
- Approach to a urological patients: family and physiological history, remote and current history, medications
- Urological clinical semiotics: general objective examination, signs and symptoms related to main urological conditions
- Laboratory and instrumental exams: renal function test, urinalysis, urine culture, urodynamics, radiological examinations, endoscopic examinations
- Urological disposables: wire, vesical catheter, ureteral stent, ureteral catheter, nephrostomy tube
- Prostate cancer: clinical features, diagnosis and treatment
- Radical prostatectomy: indications and management with specific focus on aspects of interest for a nurse
- Urothelial cancer: clinical features, diagnosis and treatment
- Endoscopic procedures of the bladder (TURB): indications and management with specific focus on aspects of interest for a nurse
- Radical cystectomy: indications and types of urinary diversions with specific focus on aspects of interest for a nurse
- Kidney cancer: clinical features, diagnosis and treatment
- Partial and radicalnephrectomy: indications and management with specific focus on aspects of interest for a nurse
- Urinary stones: clinical features, diagnosis and management with specific focus on aspects of interest for a nurse
- Benign prostatic hyperplasia: clinical features, diagnosis and treatment
- Endoscopic procedures of the prostate (TURP): indications and management with specific focus on aspects of interest for a nurse

The student, upon completion of the Integrated Course, will be able to:
- Identify and describe signs and symptoms referable to a urological condition, biological specimen and instrumental investigations in support of the patient's clinic
- Correlate signs and symptoms to specific pathologies, developing skills aimed at identifying actual and potential complications
- Infer the clinical situation with decision-making in response to the patient's need for nursing care, referred to different clinical manifestations

To access the exam: Sufficiency in morphological sciences and physiological sciences, minimum number of hours required by current regulations

MS powerpoint presentations with on-site lessons. Lessons will be interactive and based on clinical cases

Exam: written test consisting of 60 multiple choice questions with only one exact option (24 of general surgery and the remaining relating to specialties), structured according to the model of clinical cases
- Available time: 90 minutes
- Evaluation: judgment in 30/30 (max)
Sufficiency 18/30 (60%)

At the end of the integrated course, the student will be able to know, identify and correlate signs and symptoms of pathology or problems susceptible to surgical-urological evaluation.
