Learning Outcomes
Acquire the mathematical skills necessary for the understanding of general physics concepts. Acquire the problem solving skills for simple problems of kinematics.

Teaching Methods
Frontal lectures with a considerable amount of time dedicated to problem analysis and simple exercises of kinematics.
Lectures offered in video/remote in case of COVID-19 emergency.

Assessment Methods
Written test, with 12-15 questions with multiple choice, covering the program of the lectures.
Every question gets 2-3 points (0 if missing answer, -0.66 if wrong answer). The minimum mark to pass the exam is 18/30.
Detailed Syllabus
Basics of algebra and geometry. Angles and units. Trigonometric functions. Vectors algebra. Operations on vectors: sum, difference, multiplication for a scalar, dot product and cross product. Introduction on physics laws, measurements and units.
Introduction to Kinematics: unidimensional motion. Projectile motion. Bidimensional motion. Exercices.
Expected Learning Outcomes
Knowledge of the mathematical tools, such as functions analysis, geometry, vectors algebra, necessary to understand general physics concepts. Ability to analyse and describe simple problems of kinematics.
