Assesment patient with cardiological desaese and choice of rehabilitation techniques. differences and similarities between the two pathologies
Learning Outcomes
The target of the lessons is to review main cardiological and respiratory deseases that need rehabilitation
in order to give to the students some informations to be able to do the best assesment and rehabilitation tecnique for the patient
Prerequisites
Students need notions of anatomy , physiology and pathology of the cardio-respiratory system

Assessment Methods
The exam will consist in a testmultiple choice question test
Detailed Syllabus
Respiratory rehabilitation and main pathologies: BPCO, bronchial asthma, Bronchiectasis, Cystic Fibrosis, Pneumothorax, Pleurisy, Atelectasis, Post-surgical pathologies in the thoracic and abdominal cavity
Evaluation of respiratory patient, evaluation of signs, introduction to rehabilitation techniques and tools to be used.
Presentation of respiratory aids for bronchial clearing and respiratory stimulators
Practical tests on the use of incentive and unblocking tools.
Practical learning tests of physiotherapeutic breathing techniques: Etgol, Fet, Oxygen therapy, Re-training to effort, Mechanical ventilation.
Communication with the patient, couselling and compliance techniques.
The final evaluation, the compilation of the physiotherapy record and the indications to the patient upon discharge.
Practical advice for the continuation at home of the exercises learned during rehabilitation.
Cardiological rehabilitation:
Cardiac pathologies of rehabilitation interest: ischemic heart disease, heart attack, heart failure.
Cardiac surgery: AO_CO by pass, heart valve replacements, TAVI, Aortic surgery, Pace Maker, ICD.
Presentation and interpretation of cardiological examinations.The assessment of physical efficiency and the role of the physiotherapist.
Administration of physiotherapy assessment scales.
Presentation of the cardiological patient with comorbidities and frailties. the problem of falls: assessment, prevention and treatment.
Rehabilitation of the cardio-operated patient, post-surgery complications. Treatment in the acute phase, rehabilitation techniques, incentives.
Continuation of physical training program in inpatient and / or outpatient rehabilitation facilities.
Calisthenics and breathing exercises presentation.
New types of cardiac surgery. heart transplant and Vad implantation (Ventricular Assist Devise).
Electrocardiographic monitoring, interpretation and execution.
Training in the recognition of the main cardiac arrhythmias, atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter.
The patient with AOCP and its treatment.
Communication with the patient, couselling and compliance techniques.The final evaluation, the compilation of the physiotherapy record and indications to the patient upon discharge.

Expected Learning Outcomes
The student must demonstrate that he has acquired knowledge and understanding skills on the pathologies treated, to be able to choose the tools / aids to use.
