Principles and tools for assessment and rehabilitation in occupational therapy

The student must acquire knowledge that allows him to apply the ICF model in clinical practice (in evaluation as in treatment), according to a multimodal and multidisciplinary approach.

Anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology of the main pathologies in the orthopedic and neurological fields.

Lectures through power point presentations and class exercises on theoretical clinical cases.

Students will be provided with the didactic material used in class (power point files).

Written exam with multiple choice questions.

- Introduction to the biopsychosocial model in medicine with particular reference to the ICF classification.
- Presentation of the professional profile and occupational therapist and the main conceptual models used in occupational therapy.

Students will have to acquire the theoretical elements to use the ICF classification and orient reasoning and clinical practice according to the Biopsychosocial model, in an integrated approach with the multidisciplinary team.
