Course Contents
The course is aimed at understanding the neuropsychological discipline as it is established within the neurological sciences and the main psychological paradigms. The main heuristic references and the main clinical, diagnostic and rehabilitative applications will be presented. The teaching lessons will be conducted paying attention to the neuropsychological method on the one hand and to the necessary anatomo-functional references underlying the main cognitive-behavioral dimensions in their normal expression and relating to the main deficits found in clinical activity.

Provide the student with the knowledge and tools to assess and identify the main cognitive deficits and, consequently, approach the patient with rehabilitation purposes

- Introduction to clinical neuropsychology: history and relationship with cognitive neuropsychology - necessary professional skills; methods of taking charge; neuropsychological examination - fields of application - global cognitive functioning - control functions - emotional regulator apparatus - memory - instrumental areas: language, praxis, visual-perceptive functions, spatial cognition - the representation of the body and its disorders - the main clinical-application areas - principles of neuropsychological rehabilitation - most common dementia
Expected Learning Outcomes
Knowledge of the anatomo-functional bases, of the clinical characteristics, of the diagnostic and therapeutic neuropsychological and re-educational processes of the main neurocognitive syndromes.
Knowledge of neuropsychological tests, fields of application and psychometric limits. Approaches in neuropsychological re-education.
