Course Contents
Joint balance and muscle test of all districts: elements of biomechanics: axes and planes of movement, type of muscle contraction, anatomical and functional measurements, static and dynamic assessment of the spine, joint assessment of all districts, outline of hand assessment, identify the landmarks, recognize the muscles examined and related innervations, hints on the concepts of dermatomes, myelomers, sensitivity distribution and main osteotendinous reflexes, search for the points of origin and insertion, know how to isolate the monoarticular muscles from the bi articulars, knowing how to position the patient correctly for evaluation.
Learning Outcomes
The module aims to allow the learning of the principles that determine the physiotherapy evaluation of the joint balance, the muscle strength of the single or group of muscles and the main innervations.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of anatomy. Knowledge of joint kinesiology.
Additional Information
Presentations in MS-Power Point format, CD-ROM - Exercises in the simulation room
Assessment Methods
The exam will consist of a written test. Multiple choice quiz.
Detailed Syllabus
Objective examination of the patient: observation and evaluation. Joint balance and muscle test of all districts. Posture of the patient, fixation, resistance.
