At the end of the course the student will be expected to know the essential elements concerning the profession of Laboratory Technician; the evolutionary and regulatory path of professionalisation; the fundamentals of work planning and rostering; to learn about the impact of HTA and Clinical Risk on a laboratory's activities; to become aware of the concepts of autonomy, responsibility and competence related to the profession.

Knowledge of workflows gained during years of internship in laboratories.
Knowledge of laboratory methodologies.
Knowledge of laboratory safety concepts and workplace hygiene.
