Course Contents
The course will deal with the omics approach, with a particular focus on genomics, applied to representative models of haematological neoplasms, especially by analysing the topics relevant for the profession of Medical Biotechnologist. During the course, self-evaluation exercises will also be proposed, as well as additional material for in-depth study and group presentations on topics of particular interest.

Learning Outcomes
The aim of the course is to render the student able to know, interpret and analyse the main applications and clinical implications of comics technologies for the topics of the course, that are are relevant for a Medical Biotechnologist, with a critical attitude, as requested by the Dublin descriptor 3.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of molecular Hematology applied to oncohematological diseases and knowledge of genomics

A) Taught (frontal) classes with slide presentations available on the UPO DIR website (https://www.dir.uniupo.it/); B) Self-assessment tests after each class; C) Group presentations by the students on topics agreed upon with the professor

Assessment Methods
The exam will be in the context of the exam of the integrated course. The exam of Omics in Hematology will be based on 4 statements, for which the candidate has to: i) assign true/false; ii) write 5-10 lines of comment to justify the choice. Examples of these tests are provided as self-assessment tests after each class.

A. Clinical Omics of chronic lymphocytic leukemia: implications for diagnosis and management with a precision medicine approach

B. Clinical Omics of diffuse large B cell lymphoma: implications for prognosis and target therapy

C. Clinical Omics of acute lymphoblastic leukemia: implications for diagnosis and precision medicine management

D. Clinical Omics of acute myeloid leukemia: implications for disease classification, prognosis and target therapy

E. Clinical Omics of myeloproliferative neoplasms

F. Clinical Omics of multiple myeloma

G. Omics and clinical trials for hematological neoplasia
Expected Learning Outcomes
At the end of the course, the student will be able to: i) critically analize the clinical implications of "omics" in several models of hematological neoplasia; ii) appreciate the relevance of "omics" technologies for improving precision medicine, molecular diagnosis and target therapy of hematological neoplastic disorders
