Pass at 2nd year level (both Spanish Linguistics A and Spanish Language II = LINGUA SPAGNOLA II)

The course is based on the material contained in the texts listed in the bibliography and on the extra material handed out in class or uploaded to the DIR service.
Additional activities will be carried out in class to strengthen and consolidate linguistic skills in order to meet the objectives of the course
Additional Information
Every year, a Vademécum is published on all the Dir pages of Spanish Language and Linguistics, providing detailed information on exams, appeals, DSA and compensatory measures, Erasmus, etc. It is compulsory reading for all students.

Assessment Methods
Exam methods: two written tests (in two consecutive days): 1) grammatical exercises - completion / transformation / reformulation / guided answer-, + composition; 2) translation with dictionary.
Oral part: evaluation of oral skills (comprehension / expression - even starting from the mandatory readings) according to the indicated level.
In order to overcome the written part, the student must obtain at least 18/30 in both parts (otherwise he will have to re-present himself to the written exam in a subsequent appeal).
The written test will be considered passed if at least 60% of the answers in the grammatical exercises are correct, and a correct use of period syntax and grammaticality of written expression (for the level indicated) is demonstrated in the language composition and translation.- An oral test will be considered adequate in which the student is able to communicate fluently on complex topics (also related to the readings), with a variety of vocabulary, morphology and syntax, using grammatically correct forms. - The final grade will result from the average between written and oral. In order to pass the examination, the student must achieve a minimum mark of 18/30 in both the written and the oral.

Control of learning in itinere: checks in class and at home on the single topics covered; grammatical checks (with exercises), tests of composition, oral comprehension and translation.
Compulsory work: the choice of a topical issue in the Hispanic world. 1. Consultation of different types of oral and written sources to extract information. 2 Preparation of a Power Point to present the topic in class (orally) V. all the instructions on the platform Dir. Self-study at the Language Center.

Detailed Syllabus
Spanish grammar, exercises of (oral and written) expression and comprehension. Grammar contents: use and values of tenses and verbal modes; direct and indirect speech in the formal and colloquial registers; use of the subjunctive and the indicative (alternation and selection of the mode); locutions and use of modes in conditional constructions; use of modes in adversative and concessive constructions; use of modes in modal constructions; passive form and impersonal form; the expression of time relationships; locutions and use of the modes in the causal, consecutive and final clauses; periphrasis with infinity, participle and gerund; the conjecture (locutions and use of tenses); use of ser and estar. Phraseology and lexicon of special languages, depending on the translation (from Spanish to Italian and from Italian to Spanish) or drafting of various textual types: exhibition, administrative and legal texts.
Expected Learning Outcomes
- Can understand most of the texts presented, complex and long, and he often knows their implicit meaning.
- He possesses and knows how to apply the linguistic tools (verbal forms, syntactic structures, lexical choices, rhetorical strategies), typical of the Spanish language for the level indicated above
- Can expresses itself with ease and a certain naturalness.
- Can use language in a sufficiently flexible way for social, professional and academic purposes.
- He is able to produce clear texts, show, in terms of context, a good control of the textual structure, the connectors and the elements of cohesion.
