THEATRE WORKSHOP IN ENGLISH: TILLIT ENGLISH

• To gain an understanding of the main features of theatre communication, both verbal and non-verbal, integrated with improvisation • To learn grammatical structures and phonetics through a communicative and situational approach, with the aim to present a performance in public • To learn to assess the communicative and expressive efficacy of one's own and the company's presentation • To improve the ability to be in relation, to work collaboratively, showing responsibility and reliability, until the final performance, which represents the completion of the learning process.

A2-B1 level of English (minimum). No previous acting experience is required. Willingness to be challenged. Commitment to attendance, responsibility in team work.

Practical workshop with elements of improvisation; supervised and autonomous teamwork.

Maximum number of participants: 12. Those who are interested in taking part should contact the instructors(Pustianaz) by the end of October. Attendance is compulsory. Students with disabilities, learning disabilities or special education needs, once they have contacted the University Staff, can refer to the tutor in charge of the course to define the examination modalities, concerning academic aspects.

Ongoing evaluation during the workhsop; final public performance; written report and self-assessment. The final assessment will be carried out with the help of an evaluation grid which takes into account not only the achieved result of the final performance, but also of the learning development and improvement during the whole workshop.

The workshop is divided into the following three stages: 8 hours' introduction to theatre techniques (with Mario Sgotto); English phonetics; improvisation games and theatre training; rehearsal for final performance. “Integration of gender issues”. In choosing the text to be performed and in casting the roles, gender issues, roles and expectations will also be addressed, including in the construction of the characters’ identities.

- Knowledge and comprehension: communicative competence and comprehension of the grammatical structures and expressions used in the playtext; comprehension of the basic elements of theatre communication; self-assessment and overall evaluation of the whole learning process - Practical application of knowledge and comprehension: improved fluency and correctness of pronunciation and intonation; improvement in the overall expressive skills, including non-verbal ones.
