The Russian language and culture.
After acquiring the Cyrillic alphabet, the course will continue with the study of the main structures of the Russian language, with particular focus on the morphology and the syntax of the cases. Basic vocabulary. Translation from and into Russian.
Oral exercises with simulation of real-life situations.

Weekly exercises to be submitted to the instructor.
The exam consists of a written test and an oral interview.

The Cyrillic alphabet. Introduction to the phonetics and pronunciation of the Russian language. The explanations will be focused on the differences and similarities with the phonetics of the Italian language. Consonants: voiceless and voiced, hard and soft. Intonations.
Grammar includes the following topics: gender, plural and declension of nouns; adverb and adjective; classes of adjectives; personal, possessive, and demonstrative pronouns in singular and plural; the verb: the two conjugations; present, past and future tenses; reflexive verbs; verbs of motion, uni- and multidirectional, without prefixes.
Elements of syntax: coordination and subordination, use of что – чтобы, поэтому – потому что. Introduction to the category of perfective and imperfective, the main aspectual pairs.
Cases: singular and plural; the use of cases without prepositions and the main prepositions.

Students will be able to understand and use everyday expressions. They will be able to establish effective communication with Russian speakers on the topics covered in the various situations addressed during the lessons (introducing themselves and others, talking about themselves, listing their interests, expressing their ideas in the form of short thematic compositions, using the grammar concepts and vocabulary studied).
They will also be able to interact verbally on general topics, understand simple spoken texts and dialogues, and compose conversations on a variety of themes (getting acquainted, family, daily life, leisure time, cinema, holidays, customs, in shops, at the restaurant, in class, on public transportation, at the doctor’s, etc.).
