Introduction to the Design of Experiments and its applications in Management and Finance.
Reference Texts
There will be course material prepared by the instructor, which will be made available during the course. Useful reference texts are: Montgomery, D. C. (2020). Optimal Design of Experiments: A Case Study Approach. Wiley.
Learning Outcomes
Knowledge of the fundamental concepts of Design of Experiments and how they can be applied to problems in Management and Finance.
Prerequisites
A background in Statistics and Mathematical Methods, or in equivalent courses, will be beneficial for following the course effectively.

Assessment Methods
Presentation of a topic or application of choice, agreed upon with the instructor, to be carried out individually or in groups.
Detailed Syllabus
Definition and purpose of experiments. Basic terminology: factors, levels, response variables. Randomization, replication, and blocking. One-factor experiments. Factorial experiments. Practical exercises and case studies.
Expected Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, students will be able to understand and design simple experimental studies, analyze the collected data, and interpret the results.
