Course Contents
The course examines the reasons, methods, and extent of public intervention in the areas of social security, healthcare, and education. It also analyzes the main redistributive and income support policies.

Learning Outcomes
The aim of the course is to illustrate the functioning of the main institutions of the Italian welfare state and to provide students with the tools necessary for a rigorous analysis of the rationale behind their introduction and the reform processes implemented over time.

Assessment Methods
Students who attend class have the option to give a short presentation, which will be graded from 0 to 2 points. These points will be added to the final exam score.
