- Care plans for individuals with: headache in the Emergency Room, stroke, epilepsy, syncope,
acute poisoning, respiratory failure, acute complications of diabetes mellitus, emergencies and hypertensive emergencies, chest pain, and acute kidney failure. - standard care plans for people with orthopedic issues. - general concepts of monitoring respiratory, circulatory, neurological, renal systems, and body temperature. - the need to communicate in critical situations

At the end of the course, the student should be able to:
- Describe the concepts of critical area, organizational aspects of the Emergency System
- Describe the basic elements of the current legislation in Italy, related to the Health Emergency System
- Describe the concepts and phases of the rescue chain
- Describe the application of the ABCDE method in the approach to a critical person and apply patient assessment and monitoring on simulated clinical cases
- Describe the care priorities of a person in critical condition
- Describe the main systems for monitoring vital functions
- Plan the care of a patient in critical condition
- Describe the characteristics of communication/interaction in emergency situations with the patient, relatives, and the team

- BLSD: exercise with semi-automatic device. PBLS: theoretical

- ALS: endotracheal intubation, tracheotomy/tracheotomy, bronchoaspiration.
- Care priorities for users in adverse clinical conditions such as coma, burns, multiple traumas, intoxications, acute respiratory failure, cardio-circulatory arrest and arrhythmias.

- Shock, pulmonary embolism, acute pulmonary edema in patients in intensive care or intensive care units.
- General concepts of respiratory, circulatory, neurological, renal and body temperature monitoring.
- The need to communicate in critical situations.
- Brain death, management, education and assistance to potential donors.
- Clinical-care planning of the user in invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation, polytrauma, acute myocardial infarction, pulmonary embolism in a patient in intensive care or intensive care unit.

Knowledge of the extra- and intra-hospital emergency healthcare system and understanding of the healthcare logistics approach for hospital and extra-hospital transport. Knowledge of a systematic approach based on ABCDE assessment and related early treatment. Ability to apply acquired knowledge in managing a patient in critical/vital instability situations. Demonstrate communication skills in emergency/urgent situations.
