Upon completion of the course, students should understand the histology, embryology, and anatomy of periodontal tissues, as well as the basics of the epidemiology, etiology, and etiopathology of periodontal disease, the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of periodontal diseases, periodontal examination, classifications of gingival recession, and classifications of periodontal disease.

The student must be able to collect an anamnesis and compile a medical record, perform an objective examination, recognize the main and most frequent diseases of the periodontal tissues.

Oral and/or written exam with questions relating to the topics covered in the course.
The student must demonstrate knowledge of the anatomy of periodontal tissues, as well as all the topics covered in the course, integrated with notions of histology and anatomy that are essential to understand the development of the various diseases.
Any papers will be evaluated for the determination of the final grade.
