Course Contents
The topics will include: hand washing before performing a clinical procedure; the ergonomic position of the operator and the patient during clinical procedures; knowledge and application of home oral hygiene tools and techniques.

Learning Outcomes
At the end of the course, the student will be able to:- choose and perform the correct handwashing protocol depending on the clinical procedures they encounter- work with ergonomically correct positions, that is, be able to position the patient and themselves according to the clinical performance and the different needs that arise- know the characteristics of home oral hygiene aids- know, perform, and teach the patient the various brushing techniques- know, perform, and teach the patient the use of tools for interdental hygiene.

Teaching Methods
Classroom lectures and practical exercises. The course includes 10 hours of lessons in which the topics will be addressed first from a theoretical point of view followed by practical exercises on the same. The lessons are supported by the projection of PPT slides.

Written test that includes multiple choice questions and open-ended questions.
Detailed Syllabus
1) Hand washing: social, antiseptic, surgical.2) Reception and positioning of the patient: patient position, operator position.3) Tools and techniques for home dental hygiene.3a) Brushing methods: rolling technique, Stillman technique, modified Stillman technique, Bass technique, modified Bass technique.3b) Interdental tools: floss, Superfloss type floss, inter-dental brush.
Expected Learning Outcomes
Students must be able to independently perform the procedures and techniques included in the program.
