The course aims to explore the role of the economist in analyzing the functioning of the economic system, illustrating its methods and approaches. It will delve into economic issues arising from scarcity and decision-making, as well as the dynamics influencing economic growth. In particular, the course will examine the economic growth model to understand the determinants of development differences among countries.
The course includes lectures held by professionals in the humanitarian sector, who will present case studies and involve students in exercises and group work.

The course aims to equip students with the tools to understand the economic approach and the causes of growth disparities among countries, with the goal of identifying effective policies to reduce inequalities.

It is a written examination. The exam consists of multiple-choice questions. The final grade is expressed in thirtieths and must be at least 18/30 to pass. Within an academic year, students may not take the exam more than three times. The exam lasts 1 hour.
