The 3rd-year internship, as reiterated by several authors, is a learning process to a professional role, which requires knowledge and skills. The internship is part of a theoretical-practical path that sees a formative relationship between student / professional / university tutor, set in an organized work context, which helps the student to rework the action, both on a practical and emotional level. These three actors are guarantors of the training process that will allow the student to transform his knowledge into critical operational skills: that is, conceived, organized and supported by the knowledge of the Social Service. All this also refers to some aspect of the helping relationship, which is inherent precisely in social work. The internship will be more effective if it allows the student to experiment with a situation in balance between "thinking, feeling, acting", activated in a constantly evolving process. The trainee will be helped to "learn how to learn" by building a new way of observing, documenting and reflecting on the individual contexts that he will have the opportunity to meet. Through practice the student can: • use the professional intervention to know, evaluate, design • read the professional intervention in terms of meaning and meaning of the action, as well as the design and evaluation dimension • reflect on the professional action and rework the experience. It also emphasizes the construction of the profession as a "link" between "do" profession - which adds a meaning of sense to the effort carried out by the student - and a profession "thought" and "felt". The 3-year internship focuses on the community dimension, with particular attention: • to the Group • to the Local Community • to the Relationship of help to the Person. The student's experimentation in the internship will promote attention to trifocality, reflection, identification of creative modalities, learning to finalize with the group an individual relationship in the different dimensions of professional action.

The learning objectives of the 3rd-year internship (300 hours) refer to: - Role: critical knowledge related to the functions and tasks of a Social Service in a specific situation - Task: transformations of knowledge into skills - Reflexivity: listening and recognition of one's emotions, acquisition of awareness with respect to one's motivations, socio-cultural and deontological references, of an anti-oppressive nature (advocacy), used towards certain social phenomena.

The internship is subject to the following prerequisites: -Have taken and passed the Exam of Theories, Methods and Techniques of Social Work II The student, who has passed the necessary prerequisites for carrying out the internship, is required to formalize the registration of the same at the educational secretariat of the Asti office.

The 3rd-year internship takes place in two periods, as per academic programming, in the Services of affiliated Institutions / Companies. The duration of the internship varies according to the weekly attendance of the student at the Organization and is agreed between the University and the Institution. The reception institutions in agreement with the tutors are available to agree on a timetable that takes into account the needs of the service reconciling it with the educational and work commitments of the student. There are no exemptions from the execution of internship hours. There are no reimbursements of expenses for travel made for internship reasons. The identification of the internship location is the task of the Department which, through the activity of the tutors, finds external resources. The tutor proposes the student/service combination, reconciling, compatibly with the available resources, the training needs with the preferences expressed by the student. Please note the possibility of a concerted internship (project-work). The task of the teaching tutor is to promote forms of reflexivity on the subjective learning style of each student, with particular attention to the cognitive, relational and professional-deontological spheres, in a constant reference to the relationship between training and profession; carries out the reception interviews in small groups and, individually, with each student; activates contacts with organizations affiliated with the Department and with any new organizations for the internship; proposes to the Professor of Methods and Techniques of Social Service I and II the pairings of internships in the current academic year, collects, through the individual form, any useful information on the situation and on the internship requests of each student; liaises with the tutor-supervisors of the organisations offering the traineeships; organizes ongoing monitoring meetings of the internship in the presence of the student and the tutor-supervisor; organizes and collects the documentation prepared by the student and the student evaluation form prepared by the tutor-supervisor. It takes care of and maintains relations with the affiliated Institutions / Companies in order to propose the stipulation of new agreements, renew those expiring.

Students with disabilities or with Specific Learning Disorders (DSA) or Special Educational Needs (BES) can request specific services and tools dedicated to them by contacting the Career Development and Coordination Staff and Student Services and by consulting the dedicated page of the University website: https://uniupo.it/it/servizi/servizi-studentidisabili-e-dsa. Students with disabilities, SLD, SEN, once they have contate the University Staff, can contact the professor in charge of the course in relation to the declination of the examination methods, regarding the teaching aspects.

Students are required to produce and submit the following documentation: -the registration of the internship plan, i.e. the contract that the student defines with the supervising tutor during the first days of activity at the internship site -the intermediate report that aims to monitor the student's participation, his ability to use theoretical tools in professional practices and personal reflections with respect to the current experience -the final report that collects the whole of the training experience -students are required to respect the delivery dates indicated by the internship plan provided by the Department. At the end of the experience there will be an oral return by the Teachers of Methods and Techniques of Social Service I and II and the organizational tutor of the internship. The third-year professional internship can be considered passed if the above objectives have been achieved (please refer specifically to the internship material provided by the University to students and supervisor tutors).

The student must demonstrate, at the end of the course, that he has acquired knowlwdge,skills, and abilities and specifically relational skills such as: - consistency with the principles and professionalizing values - listening and recognition of one's emotions - acquisition of awareness with respect to one's motivations - acquisition of awareness with respect to one's own motivations - management of relations with users - ability to orient oneself in the service and relate to other figures prof.li/dirigenti The student will have to give life to appropriate behaviors, integrating experience with knowledge. In consideration of the fact that the relational dimension is significant and peculiar for the social worker, as it represents an element of characterization among the helping relationships, the internship cannot be considered suitable in the shortage or absence of these requirements.
