Learning Outcomes
General view of food intake and nutrition problems. Handling of food by the digestive tract
Problems derived from uncorrected nutrition
Importance and relevance of macro and micronutrients.
At the end of this teaching course the student should know the main principles of feeding and the pathways our body uses to extract and use the nutrients. The ones who will be Nutritional Biologists should have the physiological basis to plan diets for different kinds of life
Prerequisites
Knowledge of General Biochemistry
Knowledge of Organic Chemistry
Correct scientific language. Synthesis capability in written exposure
Teaching Methods
Frontal lessons. Examples of possible diet models
Additional Information
check preparation level on the way
Assessment Methods
The written test will be of three hours. It will be evaluated the ability to apply all the learned topics of the course. The test consists of 5 or 6 questions on the following items:
!. Metabolism, body composition and its evaluation
2. Digestive system motility
3. Secretory processes in digestive tract
4.Digestion of macronutrients and their absorption
5. Ethanol metabolism or mediterranean diet or food-linked pathologies or nutraceuticals and addictives or nutrigenomics
6. Vitamins and minerals
The difficulty will be coeherent with the proposed program and to the materials posted on DIR platform. Each question, without mistakes, will be evaluated 6 or 5 points up to 30/30. The test will be passed with a score not inferior to 18/30
The use of books, notes or other is forbidden. The laude will be conferred just for all questions without mistakes and for questions characterized by synthesis and full developing of the question
The test will be cancelled in case of copying
