The course aims to continue the study and learning process of surgical diseases
with the aim of leading the student to a direct, often multidisciplinary, clinical
approach, with a view to being able to set up a diagnostic-therapeutic program
according to current knowledge, current clinical practice and when available
current guidelines. Great importance is placed on the differential diagnosis and on the surgical treatment path.

1 - Complete the learning of surgical disease, from a differential diagnostic point of
view, emphasizing the need to know how to make a rational choice of instrumental
and laboratory tests, drawing diagnostic conclusions and outlining the basis of
therapy. 2 - Complete the learning of notions that the student should have already
acquired in the courses of the previous years.

1- Demonstrate knowledge of surgical pathology topics (including surgical anatomy
and physiology); 2- Knowing how to indicate for each topic the characteristics of
frequency and prevalence, urgency, diagnostic and therapeutic possibilities and
seriousness; 3- Be able to formulate a differential diagnostic hypothesis; 4- Know the
diagnostic techniques (objective examination, laboratory, radiology, etc...); 5- Being
able to offer patients various medical and/or surgical therapeutic solutions, with the
relative consequences and risks; 6- Know the necessary equipment and be able to
implement the simplest general surgical measures that even the general practitioner
must be able to solve.
