The course "Evidence-Based Practice and Implementation Methodologies" is structured into the following modules: Evidence-Based Practice, Research Methodology, Statistics for Research, and Implementing Evidence into Practice.The exam consists of a written test and an oral test.The written test consists of 21 questions (7 on research methodology and 14 on statistics for research, mostly multiple-choice, for a maximum score of 21 points) aimed at assessing:students' knowledge regarding the research process, the structure of a scientific article, the scientific publishing process, the main study designs, and the fundamental concepts of statistics applied to research;the ability to read, understand, and interpret the results of a scientific article. The text of the article will be made available before the test to allow students adequate time for reading and critical analysis.Students will be allowed to take the oral test only after scoring at least 60% of the maximum points available for the written test. The duration of the written test is 30 minutes.The oral test is aimed at deepening knowledge regarding evidence-based practice and implementation science. Furthermore, it will assess the ability to apply the acquired knowledge through the critical reading of a scientific article of interest to the nursing professions (primary and/or secondary source).In particular, the following abilities will be assessed:identifying the research question and study objectives;recognizing the study design and its main methodological features;correctly interpreting the results reported in tables, graphs, forest plots, or other data representations;critically discussing the validity of the results, the quality of the evidence, and its transferability into clinical practice.During the oral test, students' ability to apply the main strategies and models for implementing evidence in healthcare settings will also be evaluated.The oral test is considered passed if the candidate demonstrates a sufficient mastery of the theoretical concepts and an adequate capacity for critical analysis and application of scientific evidence to professional practice. Failure to pass the oral test requires repeating the entire exam (both the written and oral tests), regardless of a passing grade on the written test.To achieve a final grade of 30/30 with honors (lode), the candidate must demonstrate an excellent and integrated knowledge of all the topics covered in the course, as well as an outstanding ability for critical reading of scientific literature, data interpretation, and application of the principles of Evidence-Based Practice and evidence implementation methodologies in professional practice.

Knowledge and understanding
Students at the end of the course can:
- describe different study designs and evaluate their applicability in nursing research
- describe the research process
- describe the process of evidence-based practice

This knowledge is acquired during theoretical lectures and classroom practice and is assessed by both written and oral examination.
Ability to apply knowledge and understanding.

At the end of the course, students can:
- critically analyse a research report
- conduct the evidence-based practice process.

These skills are acquired during classroom and computer-based exercises and are assessed in both written and oral examinations.
Making judgements

At the end of the course, students can assess which organisational, educational and care problems can be identified to develop a EBP process. This skill is acquired during classroom and computer-based exercises.
