Guide to completing the rehabilitation training record, including all its contentsand a guide to acquiring clinical reasoning

Reference Texts

Teaching materials in use at UniUpo and slides

Learning Outcomes
The module aims to provide students with the theoretical and practical elements necessary to develop appropriate clinical reasoning, as well as the tools for correctly completing the rehabilitation record, applied to the various specialist areas — neurological, orthopedic, cardiological, respiratory, and pediatric — in both the acute and chronic phases of the pathology.
Prerequisites

Patient assessment skills in the main rehabilitation areas.

Teaching Methods

The module includes lectures and small-group work activities. During plenary discussion sessions, interactive activities are planned using Audience Response System applications (SlIDo, Wooclap), which help foster active student engagement and ongoing assessment of learning. The module also includes video-based case study analysis sessions, peer learning practical simulations, and guided clinical case discussions (problem-based learning), aimed at stimulating clinical reasoning.

Assessment Methods
Assessment of learning is based on the individual evaluation of assignments produced by the student in the various rehabilitation areas addressed during the module (neurological, orthopedic, cardiological, respiratory, and pediatric). For this course, a pass/fail judgment (pass/not pass) is provided rather than a numerical grade.
Detailed Syllabus
Introduction to clinical reasoning, analysis of clinical cases of pathologies assessed during the internship. Identification of elements that constitute the personalized clinical pathway. Analysis of problems in relation to diagnosis, comorbidities, and patient expectations. Identification of priority problems, short-, medium-, and long-term goals, and subsequent treatment proposals. Compilation of the rehabilitation record in various areas, compilation of clinical case reports
and final report with a view to the future professional career.
Expected Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, students will be able to independently develop clinical reasoning applied to the various pathologies of rehabilitative interest, propose an appropriate treatment for the clinical case, and correctly complete rehabilitation records, handover notes, and reports.
