At the end of the course the students should be able to apply the specific terminology, the analytical tools and the notions acquired in class for the analysis of tourist texts belonging to different genres with particular reference to the specialized language (vocabulary, morphology and syntax).
From the basic level of simple knowledge and application of specific terminology, analytical tools and notions acquired in the classroom, in the analysis of texts of different nature; up to the knowledge and fully aware application of the methods and tools offered, on different text types.

An adequate knowledge of the Spanish Language is required (higher level, C1)

Lectures, seminar lessons with analysis of examples; the theacher will provide exemplary materials on the DIR

Every year, a Vademécum is published on all the Dir pages of Spanish Language and Linguistics, providing detailed information on exams, appeals, DSA and compensatory measures, Erasmus, etc. It is compulsory reading for all students.

Written exam (duration: 2:30h): 1) Two open-ended questions, on the main phenomena dealt with (characteristics of specialized languages, linguistic description of main features of Spanish for Tourism, relations between genres and specific linguistic traits, in Tourism); 2) analysis or production of a short text belonging to the genres examined in the classroom.
The student must demonstrate that he is able to display the indicated contents in good Spanish and organized form; to be able to recognize the linguistic data presented, analyze them and insert them in the theoretical reference context
A paper will be assessed as excellent if it demonstrates: an organic and in-depth vision of the themes of the texts dealt with in the course; developed capacity for analysis and synthesis; excellent mastery of the specific vocabulary and linguistic concepts set out; capacity for theoretical elaboration through the rich use of relevant examples.
A paper that demonstrates: an only sometimes mechanical knowledge of the subject; appropriate and correct language; a good capacity for analysis and synthesis; a good use of exemplification in relation to a theoretical exposition, which considers the different aspects of the specialised use of the Spanish language, will be assessed as fair.
A test that demonstrates: basic knowledge of the syllabus, but with an awareness of the method of linguistic analysis of the proposed texts; basic and correct use of terminology; presentation of adequate examples in the context of the subject matter.
A paper will be graded as insufficient if it demonstrates al least one of these traits: important educational gaps; erroneous learning of notions/concepts or methodology; the pure reproduction/listing of notions or definitions, lacking the required conceptual links; lack of orientation within the theme/text examined; lack, absence or incorrect use of examples; language unsuitable for the subject; use of Spanish that does not meet the required level.

This course is meant as an introduction to Spanish for specific purposes (Tourism). The first part will concentrate on the on specialized languages and their properties, and in particular on Spanish Language for Tourism, and textual genres (guía, folleto) that characterize it. The second part of the course will be devoted to linguistic analysis and production of documents relevant to these genres. Work will also be done on the translation of tourist texts.

SKILLS
- Knowing how to describe the main phenomena in a clear and detailed manner, using the appropriate terminology in an appropriate manner.
-Knowing how to recognize and classify theoretically presented phenomena in the proposed / analyzed documents or texts;
- Knowing how to define and illustrate by way of example the concepts discussed in class.
TRANSVERSAL KNOWLEDGE
- Knowing how to prepare a linguistic analysis autonomously, starting from the theoretical basis acquired
- Know how to deepen the topics on the specific manuals and the detailed studies
